Week 7 - Follow our progress on the One Page Project Manager*.
The team did not feel good about the progression of the project this week. Less than positive feedback on blog postings and a disagreement about the direction of the project caused the team some consternation. The project to date has focused on the mechanics of using Ning to carry out a discussion on a classroom activity (i.e. story elements). It was felt by the reviewer and members of the team that such a focus did not present a rich problem-solving learning opportunity. At the meeting, and later in class, the team moved towards creating a module that would be used by third graders to review story elements and discuss them, using proper etiquette, in Ning.
The team, citing Clark and Meyer's Multimedia principles, feels that video and audio is an important part of creating the project. They are having difficulties placing these media, especially video, into PowerPoint. New options for the creation of the prototype are being explored.
With the change of focus and media, the team felt that they were behind schedule and thus changed their subjective appraisal of the project's progress to yellow.

It looks like you are now focused on a problem that combines discussing story elements with the mechanics of online discussion.
