Julie, Michael, and Kellie, working with Dr. David Merrill in an instructional design course at the University of Hawaii, are creating instructional materials to teach third graders to use Ning, a social networking site.
I enjoyed the ning site but found it a little confusing. Is this the site the student will visit? I looked at the discussion but couldn't find the question that led the posting of the main characters in the story. Perhaps you can walk us through this site on Thursday afternoon and show us how this will work with the students for both a demonstration and an application.

This is the student site. We hope to have a lot of interaction between the module we use of instruction and the actual site. We think that using the actual site (or mock-ups of it) places the learner in a context very close to what they will be doing "on the job", so to speak.
