Meeting on 1/28

Before class yesterday, my group met via elluminate. I am so glad that elluminate has a free vroom because skype was not working well for us last week. In conference mode, audio would often cut and made it difficult to understand one another. In our wonderful new space we discussed several things. The first was the demonstration course of Google SketchUp. It was interesting that while we had all watched the same four videos, we each had a different take as to what constituted a component skill as well as which application/demonstration aspects that it meet. We discussed our rationale and opinion on each.

We also discussed the prototype that I started drafting in PowerPoint. The task the we focused on was teaching the students how to log in to Ning. We decided to leave much of what was created open for feedback, but will focus on developing the slide notes section to explain why we chose to present things a particular way. Another source of contention was the way in which we label our prototype version. This is important as it will hopefully elliminate future confusion as to which draft is the most current. The solution was to label with the year first, followed by month, then date.

Lastly, we checked our OPPM to ensure that we were all on track as well as happy with the way things were developing. Our next meeting will be on 1/31 at 10 AM HST, and we will be discussing the task list that Julie developed as well as the slide notes section of the prototype.
